First I would like to say THANK YOU for the warm response to this blog feature for the next 30 days. It made me all squishy inside. With that said, lets go on to Day 2!
Day 2 - a book or series you wish more people were reading and talking about
Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. Yes it is a graphic novel/comic book series but it is thought provoking, great writing, and hooks you in right away. Plus you have ZOMBIES. Who doesn't love zombies?
Not published this year (late 2009) but I felt The e Blue Tattoo by Margot Mifflin deserved more attention then it got. True story of Olive Oatman who was captured by Yavapai before being traded to Mohave. She was "rescued" from a life she was totally content in. Tells what happened when she returned to society and why her story fascinated so many. Awesomely written.
