1000 Awesome Things

Found this website through GalaDarling.com called 1000 Awesome Things--http://1000awesomethings.com

It started about a year ago but here are some of the things they said that are most definitely true for my life.

#999 That last, crumby triangle in a bag of potato chips

#995 Finding money you didn’t even know you lost

#994 Waiters and waitresses who bring free refills without asking

#989 Blowing your nose in the shower (with just getting over the flu, this is definitely awesome!)

#982 Picking your nose (I am sorry...but when you are having a bad day and you get the perfect nosegoblin, it just seems right)

#972 Any food that requires Wet-Naps and a stack of napkins to eat

#958 Being the first person into a really crowded movie theater and getting the prime seats

#956 Using Rock-Paper-Scissors to settle anything (I even use this in my classes and the students get a kick out of it)

#929 Your colon (I am sorry but I love my colon..it does a lot for you!)

#921 Snow Days (think these are even more awesome now since I am a teacher.)

#913 Having a whole row by yourself on the plane (need I say more?)

#898 Playing old-school video games (Tetris and Super Mario Brothers...what more can a girl ask for?)

#892 Taking your shoes and socks off after a really long day

#876 Taking your bra off after wearing it for hours (and yes you can keep that visual my male readers)

#860 When the vending machine gives you two things instead of one

#847 Old, classic board games

#840 Popping Bubble Wrap (also when my dogs help me pop bubble wrap)

#837 Pushing those little buttons on the soft drink cup lid

#814 Cheesy theme songs from 80’s sitcoms

#811 Getting off an airplane after a long flight (It does not have to be a long flight...it can be a short flight...just getting off an airplane is tremendous for me.)

#808 Coming home after a long day to the smell of someone cooking dinner (I do not care if no one agrees with me, but my mom is the worlds best chef. Coming home to her cooking...purley orgasmic and happiness.)

#802 Watching something download really fast (Glad I am not the only one with this impatient attitude....)

#787 The extra time you get when the clocks roll back (Yay sleep!)

#784 Celebrity baby names (Because a lot of them are so dramatic and I love it.)

#771 Waking up before your alarm clock and realizing you’ve got lots of sleep time left (Do this all the time.)

#763 Scraping all the lint off an overflowing lint trap

#758 Celebrating your pet’s birthday even though they have no idea what’s going on (My dogs love this.)

#749 The quiet satisfaction of settling the group bill after dinner (Also the fact that I CAN do this.)

#734 When the free bread they bring you at the restaurant is warm (And if it comes with olive oil...mmmmm....)

#718 When you sneeze and a stranger says bless you (It is polite to be polite. I do this.)

#716 Rubbing someone’s newly shaved head (David loves when I do this!)

#712 Emptying the recycling bin on your computer (So liberating!)

#703 Finding the perfect patch of grass to sit on at the park (I know exactly where it is and will stand there until whoever is there first leaves. I know...it is evil.)

#699 A long hug when you really need it.

#694 Screaming at characters in movies to do things. (I do this especially during horror movies.)

#686 When you open your cell phone and there are a bunch of text messages waiting. (1:30pm is my magical time of getting lots of texts...)

#670 When a stranger walks by and offers to take a photo of you and the person you’re with. (I do this all the time. Brings good karma!)

#651 When the phone rings and it’s someone you were just thinking about

#623 The sound of snow crunching under your boots

#622 When the dog’s really excited you’re back home

#592 Your mom’s scrambled eggs (So nummy!)

#589 Making the first footprint in fresh snow

#576 Appreciating the beauty of all your body’s scars and scratches (Radical Self Love baby!)

Now I ask you to do the same thing I did--go through www.1000awesomethings.com like I did and see which ones really speak to you!

Fun Friday

One of the things I would like to do with this blog is instill some regular posts that when it is that day of the week I will know what to write about. So Thursday is for Things I Love Thursday. I am thinking that Wednesday will be for Awe Wednesday where I take what I wrote in my Radical Self Love/Awe-Manac bible and post here it and Fridays I am going to post FUN FRIDAY! Just some fun things that you can do, view, think about, or just amaze in its greatness. Now do you have to do it just on Friday? NO! It is for the whole weekend! So let us begin:

--If you are in the tri-state area, you were probably hit with SNOWMAGGEDON 2. I was. My lovely city has about 14 inches of snow on the ground. Should you hide? NO! I say go out there, do some sledding, throw some snowballs, make a snowman, whatever makes your heart jump. Plus after you play, go inside and make yourself a nice hot steaming cup of cocoa with marshmallows (if you want) or a cup of tea.

--After you thaw, watch some movies that have the element of snow in them. I say watch Snow Dogs for the cute factor, Fargo for the drama factor, Miracle for the Winter Olympics factor, and anything else you can think of.

--GET READY FOR ST. JOSEPHS DAY! St. Josephs Day is on March 19th. This is a big religious holiday and is a major holiday for Italian-American communities. For St Josephs Day, which falls on a Friday, I say have a feast with your best friends. Make sure you bring the zeppoles and fava beans! (If you want to know more, just ask me since it is part of my culture.)

--Winter is almost over but we do have a way to go. To get yourself out of the winter blues, WEAR SOME BRIGHT COLORS!

--Using just your camera phone, take some photos of your surroundings and send them to a close friend that does not live near you. What a perfect way to share communities!

--Put on silly dance music and dance around your room or wherever you are!

--Start a new book. My problem is choosing which one!

--Just be. Lay in your bed. Enjoy the stillness. Listen to your heartbeat. Listen to your breath. JUST BE.

Hope your weekend is fun and magical!

It Is Just Not The Same...

It seems to me that everything that was old is new again...especially with reboots of movies.

I do not like horror movie reboots/remakes. For whatever particular reason, (maybe oh I do not know uncreativity) the Hollywood bigwigs are remaking A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I remember about two years ago my fiance' David went to DragonCon and met Robert Englund. What David loves to do, as long as the celebrity agrees, is to have the celebrity talk to either me or one of his friends that he knows love the celebrity he met. Well Robert agreed to talk to me on the phone...but not as himself. AS FREDDY KRUEGER. He gets onto the phone and says, in the famous voice--"Hi Danielle...want to let you know that you will never see David again as he is going to be a meal for me. Sweet dreams!" I really died of fangirl squeedom.

So...I was hoping that the reboot would have some of the original camp of Robert Englund in there. It does not. It made me sad.

Things I Love Thursday--February 25, 2010 Edition

In the realm of RADICAL SELF LOVE, I give to you what I am loving this week (idea and inspiration from Ms. Gala Darling)

So on this very snowy slushy NYC Thursday, I heart...

--Having a double feature movie date all by myself. Saw The Comebacks at home and The Good Guy in the theater. Enjoyed the second movie more.

--My upcoming trip to Phoenix, Arizona. I leave in a month!

--Watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls at 5pm on ABC Family again. Missed my Rory...

--Getting excited to finally meet CHRISTOPHER WALKEN. He is in a new play on Broadway. It is in previews right now.

--Naps in the afternoon with my dogs.

--Guilty pleasure snacks, which include apples and grape nuts.

--HOCKEY! As far as I am concerned, Team NJ Devils are getting the gold medal on Sunday for mens hockey. Team USA consists of Jamie Langerbrunner, Zach Parise, and Brian Rafalski (yes I know I know he is on the Red Wings now but he will always be a Devil to me.)

--Having time to relax and read the huge piles of books in my room.

--This picture (thank you Gala):

--Making a dent in my 2010 Goals List and it is only the end of February!

--Enjoying the wonderfulness that is JAY-Z.

--Creating a new blog. It is refreshing to start anew.

--Discovering new blogs on BlogSpot that just speak to me.

--Really bad reality television

--RuPauls Drag Race Season 2 on VH1 (do not have LOGO channel on my cable.)

--Making new friends on Twitter (Hi QuirkyGirl!)

What are you hearting this week?

Hello My New Blog!

Well hello there new space to call my own....

I originally kept my blog my Livejournal (http://prophecyangel.livejournal.com) and I do intend to keep that blog as well, but sometimes a girl just needs a new space to write down her thoughts, her dreams, her inspirations, her anything.

I recently started on this new journey called RADICAL SELF LOVE. It is very empowering and amazing. Over the next couple of days, I am going to write some of my thoughts on it, what I have done to start this process, as well as the journal juju I did using The Awe-Manac: A Daily Dose of Wonder by Jill Badonsky. Put it this way--this woman thinks too negatively and it must change!

That is it for now...til we meet again I forever remain
