Fun Fact Friday #19--Who Are Your Inspirations

While I was revisiting Love and Sequins #1 podcast by the very sparkly Gala Darling, one of her homework assignments, which are totally optional, is Make a list of people who inspire you, then jot down why. Well here we go..

PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE ME

--My mother. Okay, I know this probably sounds really generic and grammar school but it is true. My mother has gone through a lot in her 65 years on this world and always comes out glowing. If only everyone had a mother like mine--laughter, hard work ethic, bravery, does not give a damn what people think about her, speaks her mind, questions everything, and always with a smile.

--My amazing fiance' David. Another one that sounds generic but his ability to save money and crunch numbers and still have a good time is an inspiration.

--Bruce Campbell for bringing b-grade horror movies to the forefront.

--Alyssa Milano for being a tomboy and proving that just because you are sometimes girly does not mean you are not a fan of sports. Great work ethic, honesty, looks out for others, proud Italian American.

--My amazing followers who keep me going with my writing.

--Gala Darling of course! Her fashion sense and style, her way with words, her honesty, her sparkly and positive personality all make me wants to be a better person.

I am sure there are ton of more but wanted to give you a sample. Who inspires you?

Kayfabe Monday--July 26 Edition

Man I love a good sabotage when I see one. What exactly is the definition of sabotage anyway? Well here it is:

Sab·o·tage
   /ˈsæbəˌtɑʒ, ˌsæbəˈtɑʒ/ Show Spelled [sab-uh-tahzh, sab-uh-tahzh] Show IPA noun, verb, -taged, -tag·ing.
–noun
1.any underhand interference with production, work, etc., in a plant, factory, etc., as by enemy agents during wartime or by employees during a trade dispute.
2.any undermining of a cause.
–verb (used with object)
3.to injure or attack by sabotage.

Origin:
1865–70; < F, equiv. to sabot ( er ) to botch, orig., to strike, shake up, harry, deriv. of sabot sabot + -age -age

—Related forms
un·sab·o·taged, adjective

—Synonyms
3. disable, vandalize, cripple.

Now that the dictionary portion of my blog is over, what the heck am I talking about??

TNA Wrestling at its July 2nd house show in Brooklyn, NY announced that TNA Wrestling would be coming back to the New York City area on September 23rd. The show will be in the Hammerstein Ballroom. Then another show possibly in Philadelphia on September 24th and then ending the house show schedule with a TNA Wrestling show in Rahway, NJ on September 25th.

I will admit, my fiance' and I already have tickets for the September 25th event. Now this is where the word sabotage comes in. WWE has scheduled a Smackdown house show on September 25th in Madison Square Garden. No big deal right? Well...guess what?

After thirteen years, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart is returning to Madison Square Garden.

In what is being billed as Bret “The Hitman” Hart Appreciation Night, the official MSG website has announced that Hart will team up with The Hart Dynasty to wrestle three unspecified members of Nexus in a Six Man Tag Team Match at the September 25 Smackdown live event.

The match will mark as Hart’s first appearance at Madison Square Garden since a September 1997 Monday Night RAW taping, which saw him work a dark match against Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

The rest of the announced card is as follows:

* Rey Mysterio vs. Kane vs. Jack Swagger – Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

* Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Christian vs. Matt Hardy – Fatal Four Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship

* Big Show vs. CM Punk

* MVP vs. Cody Rhodes

* Kelly Kelly and Tiffany vs. Michelle McCool and Layla

(Thanks to NoDQ.com for the news)

I love how WWE states that they are not scared of TNA Wrestling...and then they do this.

Fun Fact Friday #18: Questions!

As many of you are aware, I get a lot of inspiration and ideas from Gala Darling. About two months ago I have to say she started a question and answer blog feature called "Curious Tuesday" and some of the questions she asks are perfect for the F3. I will use July 20. 2010 questions for this weeks F3.

1. What is your very best beauty tip?

--My very best beauty tip would have to be to drink lots of water, even more than what people tell you to and get about 8 hours of sleep a night.

2. Who is your arch-nemesis?

--My arch-nemesis? I would say that I have quite a few. People that do not take responsibility for their actions, overall stupidity, anyone who talks about me being my back but then acts all nice to my face, evil catty girls from my grammar school and high school, animal cruelty, people who are mean to my family and friends, and the list goes on and on.

3. What are the three things you need to do in order to feel sane?
--The three things I need to do in order to feel sane is to brush my teeth as soon as I get out of bed, play and pet my dogs at least twice a day, and immerse myself in reading and writing.

4. What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?

--Strangest food I have ever eaten would be cactus. I know, not that adventurous but it was in a salad that I had at Rodeo Bar in NYC and never thought you could eat a cactus. It tasted really bland and green.

5. What is one thing in your wardrobe which makes you feel invincible?

--One thing in my wardrobe that makes me feel invincible would have to be my purple Converse sneakers for many reasons. They make me happy and I can walk for miles in them and not complain. Plus, how many people do you know that own purple Converse? I always receive compliments on them--in fact a NYC bus driver let me on his bus twice for free because of them. How is that for invincible?

Kayfabe Monday--July 19th Edition

At 6 years old, I was fascinated with the world of professional wrestling. The flashy lights, the pyro, how my brother yelled and screamed at the television, the entertainment, and the way it brought my family together. Little did I realize that like the rock and roll world, there is a group of women who follow a particular wrestler. Not because they enjoy his talent or skill, it is for the sole purpose of getting them into bed. Welcome to the land of RING RATS.

So what is a Ring Rat you ask? Well you might know the term as groupie. A groupie is a person who seeks emotional and sexual intimacy with a musician or other celebrity. "Groupie" is derived from group in reference to a musical group, but the word is also used in a more general sense, especially in casual conversation.

Female groupies in particular have a long-standing reputation of being available to celebrities, pop stars, rock stars and other public figures. Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant is quoted as distinguishing between fans who wanted brief sexual encounters, and "groupies" who traveled with musicians for extended periods of time, acting as a surrogate girlfriend or mother, often taking care of the musician's valuables, drugs, wardrobe, and social life. Nancy Spungen, who became the partner of Sid Vicious of The Sex Pistols, is one such example of what is sometimes referred to as "road wives." Cynthia Plaster Caster and The GTOs ("Girls Together Outrageously"), with Pamela Des Barres, in particular, as de-facto spokeswoman, are probably the best known groupies of this type.

Des Barres, who wrote two books detailing her experiences as a groupie – I'm With The Band (1987) and Take Another Little Piece of My Heart: A Groupie Grows Up (1993) – as well as another non-fiction book, Rock Bottom: Dark Moments in Music Babylon, asserts that a groupie is to a rock band as Mary Magdalene was to Jesus. Her most recent book, Let's Spend the Night Together (2007), is a collection of wildly varied interviews with classic "old school" groupies including Catherine James, Connie Hamzy, Cherry Vanilla, Dee Dee Keel, Margaret Moser, and Patti Johnsen, as well as modern groupies like Mandy Murders Lexa Vonn and the Plastics. Des Barres, who married rock star-actor Michael Des Barres, also persuaded cult actress Tura Satana, rock muse Bebe Buell, actress Patti D'Arbanville, and Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark to talk about their relationships with musicians.

According to Des Barres book, there is at least one verified male groupie, Pleather, who followed female celebrities such as Courtney Love and members of the 80s pop group The Bangles.

"Apple Scruffs", from George Harrison's album All Things Must Pass, refers to the Apple scruffs, a group of teenage girls who staked out The Beatles' Apple Corps offices, Abbey Road Studios, and Paul McCartney's home, often sleeping outside in rough weather, waiting for a glimpse of a Beatle. The Beatles' song "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" refers to the day a few Scruffs climbed into Paul McCartney's house through an upstairs bathroom window and raided his closet for a pair of trousers, which they took turns wearing. They also took a framed photograph, which they later returned at McCartney's request. The movie Almost Famous revolves around the life of groupies (although calling themselves 'band aides').

Now back in 1998 when I started my professional wrestling photography career, I was constantly questioned of who did I suck or fuck to get into the business. Apparently that is how some women wrestlers start out and then they smarten up and get some training. In my case, I have never went down that route. Have I been hit on or flirted with? Oh heck yes. Even back then I had the ethic of "work hard" then "join the casting couch". But some guys, even wrestlers, do not think with their heads on their shoulders. Case in point: Chasyn Rance arrested: Orlando wrestler who appeared on 'Tool Academy' accused of sex with girl

By Anika Myers Palm, Orlando Sentinel

An Orlando wrestler who recently competed on a VH1 reality television show is accused of having sex with a teen girl.

Chasyn John Rance, a 27-year-old professional wrestler who appeared in the third season of VH1's Tool Academy, was arrested Sunday and charged with lewd or lascivious battery.

The charge is a second-degree felony.

A California girl told the Orange County Sheriff's Office in April that she had at least two sexual encounters with Rance in 2008, when she was 15 and visiting her father in Florida.

The girl's mother read her daughter's diary in March and discovered that her daughter had written that she "felt bad" about some things she had done in Orlando, an arrest report shows.
Get the Sunday Sentinel delivered to your home for only $.80 a week!

In the diary, the girl admitted drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and having intercourse with Rance, then 25, at his Orlando home after one of his wrestling matches, the report said.

The girl's mother contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Office from California about the alleged sexual encounters, but initially did not permit her daughter to speak with an Orange County investigator.

The mother took the girl to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's office and was told she was in the wrong jurisdiction.

The girl, her mother and attorney James Ledford appeared at the Orange County Sheriff's Office on April 9, the report said.

During the interview, the girl said she had more than one sexual encounter with Rance at his Orlando home.

She also said that she had spent time with him at the beach and slept in the same bed — without having sex — and still communicated with him regularly through phone calls and text messages.

The girl said the two had talked about getting married after she gets older, but that she thought he should "go to jail for about a hundred years" because he was bad and cheated on his girlfriends, according to the report.

During a series of three phone calls recorded at the sheriff's office in April, Rance told the girl that he thought she was "cool" and that he had been drunk during their first sexual encounter.

"I didn't want to do that. I was waiting for a long time," he said, according to the report. "I was going to wait until you were like 18." Rance further told the girl that he didn't think he had forced her to have sex with him, said she was attractive and mature-looking and apologized for hurting her.

The Orlando Sentinel is not naming the girl or her family members because she is underage. Ledford, the girl's family's attorney, declined to speak Wednesday. Rance also declined to speak. His attorney, Warren Lindsey, did not respond to messages seeking comment.

Rance was released from the Orange County Jail Monday on $3,500 bond, according to jail records.

The 181-pound University of Central Florida graduate describes himself on his website using the phrase "Not Cocky."

His appearance on Tool Academy, which seeks to teach romantic relationship skills to so-called bad boys, aired Feb. 14. Rance, who had been assigned the nickname "Wrestlin' Tool," walked off during the first episode.

Another Orlando resident, Jacob Tapia, ultimately won the show's $100,000 top prize.

Rance is next scheduled to wrestle on Saturday at the Salvation Army Gymnasium in Sanford.

So what is my point? While the one night stand might be fun, you best be careful. As you can read, that one night stand might mess up your career, as well as your life.

As always, I believe in Kayfabe.

Fun Fact Friday #17: Life Changing Habits!

Found this on another blog. Figured it would be perfect for this week's F3. I will strike the ones that I do now and put in italics what I want to accomplish. Will need my followers to support! Do you have my back? I hope so!

30 Habits that Will Change your Life

Health habits

1. Exercise 30 minutes every day. I am going swimming with my mom 3x a week and going to try and walk more.
2. Eat breakfast every day.
3. Sleep 8 hours.
4. Avoid snacking between meals. It is best to have a high protein snack in between meals or fruits/vegetables. I do that now.
5. Eat five portions of fruits and vegetables every day.
6. Eat fish.
7. Drink one glass of water when you wake up.
8. Avoid soda.

9. Keep your body clean.
10. If you smoke, stop it.
11. If you drink, stop it.
It says a glass of wine with dinner is okay.
12. Take the stairs. Ever since breaking my foot, I will say that I have gotten lazy with the stairs. Now that I seem to be better, I will take the stairs more.

Productivity Habits

1. Use an inbox system.
2. Prioritise.
3. Plan, but not too much.
4. Wake up early. I am on summer vacation now but I need to do this for my own sanity.
5. Check your email only twice per day. This will be the HARDEST one as I am constantly checking it.
6. Eliminate unimportant tasks.
7. Clean off your desk and room.
8. Automate.
9. Set strict deadlines.
10. Take one day off per week. Definitely need to "power down" once a week. I think it will be Fridays for me.

Personal Development habits

1. Read 1 book per week. I do read now but I read very slowly. With all of the time off I have, this should not be hard for me.
2. Solve puzzles.
3. Think positively. Amen. Need to do more of this.
4. Make fast decisions.
5. Wait before buying. Again, amen. Need to do more of this.
6. Meditate 30 minutes per day.

Career habits

1. Start a blog. Granted it is not about my career, but it keep my degree in check.
2. Build a portfolio. I update it every year.

What do you think? What are the habits that changed your life?

Things I Love Thursday--July 15th Edition

Ahhh....summer is moving by so slowly and I LOVE IT. Besides that, what else am I in love with this week?

--The picture above! Thanks to Gala Darling for it.

--This just has to be the most ridiculous thing I have seen all week! If you click that, be prepared to giggle non stop.

--Going swimming with my mom. I usually hate to go into the water, especially with a lot of people around, but it makes it so much easier to go with someone who does not judge you.

--That I got a great filling lunch of vegetable dumplings and sesame pancakes for under $5 dollars in NYC. Where did I go--Vanessa's Dumplings on 14th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue.

--The homeless man at the 14th Street PATH station who miraculously knows when which train is coming and leaving.

--Giving tourists directions in my favorite city.

--Apple and Walnut crepe' at the Bastille Day celebration on 60th Street.

--The chocolate sorbet sandwich at Dessert Club Chickalicious.

--Nice quiet nights at David's. We watched the MLB All Star Game, cuddled on the couch, made dinner together, and just enjoyed our time. We are usually rush rush rush all the time, so this was very special. Looking forward to other nights like this.

--Making two new videos. My creative muses were speaking to me I guess. I plan on making another later and while it is finishing I will finish reading my book!

--Getting up at 9am feeling refreshed.

What are you in love with this week?

Kayfabe Monday--July 11th Edition

Thank you to Jamiewrestlingfan for this great information.

As many of you have noticed Impact has improved and there is a great reason for this--Tommy Dreamer is now apart of the creative team. Dreamer met Dixie months before joining TNA. Now I know a lot of you want Heyman to be part of TNA and that is still a strong possibility at this point, but Heyman wants to spend most of his time in TNA Marketing and Dreamer will still hold the book. Also it seems that Dreamer has become Dixie's right hand man. I do not agree on the fact that Rob Terry is not on anymore but Dreamer is the reason that Rob Terry, Orlando Jordan, and Rosie Lottalove are no longer on TNA Impact. Also, Dreamer said the only way he'll join TNA is if he was apart of creative. Dixie is very impressed with his style of writing and booking.

Now here is some information and plans that Dreamer has for TNA Impact and the wrestlers: Dreamer wants to cut and add certain wrestlers. Most the guys he booked in WWE developmental is excited about his new role. Dreamer's made it known he wants Daniels back in TNA. I personally agree with that. He also asked Hogan and Sting to take an Undertaker type schedule. He created an atmosphere backstage where talent can make suggestion which is not the style of Vince Russo who hated talent bringing him different ideas. Dreamer isn't a fan of Anderson being a face at all. Dreamer also wants the X Division to have a more international feel about it.

Dreamer has singled out AAA stars Aerostar, Jack Evans, Extreme Tiger, and the Apache Sisters. He also wants Sarah Stock do her Dark Angel gimmick. Dreamer's a big fan of Alissa Flash and wants to revamp the Knockout division. THANK GOD! The knockouts brought in the ratings so I am glad he is revamping it. He has setup another tryout match for Ken Doane. He knows Doane very well from OVW and WWE. Dreamer put in good words for Jimmy Yang, Carlito, Mike Knox, and several indy stars. Dreamer is also taking suggestions from Raven.

Dreamer has convinced TNA to hold off on signing guys who are not ready to come into TNA yet. The idea is to try and create new stars by elevating personal feuds. The feeling he has TNA needs to give fans a reason to cheer for talent or hate them. Just recently he told Red to use his old ring gear again. Dreamer told Red his old gear was a better way to market his image. The shirtless look made him look plain in the eyes of most viewers. Red went back to his old gear on the Houseshows this past weekend. Dreamer wants to make Red a big star.

TNA will see the return of a few NJPW stars. Creative plans on trying to make the Guns, Red, Wolfe, and Pope bigger stars in the eyes of viewers. Dreamer from all accounts know what he's doing. The guys who he wants to see excel most is Samoa Joe and Abyss. He want to make sure those two become the standard bearers of TNA's new direction. So in the coming weeks look for a more edgy in your face show. No matter who TNA hires rather it be Sullivan or Heyman, Dreamer will still have a lot of say in the booking.

I believe in Kayfabe,
JoiseyDani

Fun Fact Friday #16--July 9th Edition

Have not done one of these in a while so I think it is best I start up again! Thank you Kelly!

Here are the rules:
1. thank the person that awarded you
2. list 7 facts about yourself (which I think works perfect for my "fact tuesday post", dont you?)
3. pass the award on to 15 bloggers
4. contact the 15 bloggers you picked to let them know

So 7 facts about moi:

1: I hate it when people complain about the weather, especially the summer months. Guess what--it is MOTHER NATURE. There is nothing you can do about it. Get some water, a towel, and either a fan or air conditioning. You will be okay.

2: You would think that since I am a Italian American, I tan easily. Well I do not. I burn up like a lobster and it usually takes a week or two for me to become tan. I like the peeling stage though!

3: I have had an online journal since 2001.

4: Blowing bubbles is a great activity for me to cheer up to.

5: I always have a journal and a book in my purse.

6: I have no problem being a kid at heart. It keeps me young.

7: I really want to learn how to play dominoes.

So who do I tag? ALL OF YOU!

Kayfabe Monday: July 5th Edition

Another photo heavy blog. This time--its of Kaval from WWE but I know him as Low Ki/Senshi. I am proud that he is finally on television, but not happy that his pros are Michelle McCool and Layla El. Thankfully he is the #1 rated rookie so hope all goes well for him. Here is some history on Kaval/Low Ki/Senshi.

Brandon Silvestry (born September 6, 1979) is an American professional wrestler He is best known under his ring name Low Ki and for his stints in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling as Low Ki and Senshi. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring name Kaval.

Silvestry began wrestling in late 1998 under the ring name Low Ki, which he admits came from the lyrics of the song "No Diggity". He began wrestling for Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW) in 1998, challenging Homicide and Kane D for the JAPW Tag Team Championship. The following year he challenged for the JAPW Light Heavyweight Championship twice, unsuccessfully, but defeated Crazy Ivan and Judas Young to win the second Best of the Light Heavyweights tournament.

In 2000, he began making several appearances in the World Wrestling Federation on their programs Metal and Jakked, where he competed against the likes of Raven, Crash Holly, Christian and Essa Ríos. The following year he made it through to the finals of All Pro Wrestling's King of the Indies tournament, losing the crown to American Dragon. It was also during 2001 that he defeated Nick Berk and Homicide in separate matches on the same evening to win both the JAPW Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Titles; he would successfully defend both titles in separate matches at their Fourth Anniversary Show later that month in July. He lost both titles in a Three Way match the following month to Homicide, with Xavier as the other competitor.

Low Ki made his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut at its first show, The Era of Honor Begins, on February 23. In the show's main event, he defeated "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. On July 27, 2002, at Crowning a Champion, he became the first ever ROH Champion by defeating Daniels, Spanky and Doug Williams in a Four Way Ironman match. On August 24, Low Ki successfully defended his title against A.J. Styles. On September 21, at Unscripted, he lost the title to Xavier, who, after winning the title, became a member of Daniels's faction The Prophecy. Low Ki then faced Samoa Joe on October 5 in what was Joe's official ROH debut in a "Fight Without Honor". In what resembled more of an MMA fight, Low Ki won the match and they shook hands after the match. Low Ki left the promotion in 2004 due to the Feinstein incident, but he returned on July 17, 2004, during a match, where Samoa Joe and the Briscoe Brothers fought against The Rottweilers (Homicide and the Havana Pitbulls). It looked like Low Ki would save Samoa Joe from a beatdown by The Rottweilers, but instead he spat on the ROH Championship, which was then held by Joe, and joined The Rottweilers.

At Weekend of Thunder Night 2 on November 6, 2004, he started a feud with Bryan Danielson, who was Low Ki's partner in a match against Samoa Joe and Jushin "Thunder" Liger. Low Ki and Danielson lost the match and Low Ki blamed his partner for that, so The Rottweilers started a beatdown on Danielson. On December 4, at All Star Extravaganza II, Danielson defeated Homicide of The Rottweilers. In that same event, Low Ki wrestled Austin Aries in a number one contender's match to determine who would face ROH Champion Samoa Joe for the title. The match ended in a draw. Officials extended the match, but Low Ki refused to wrestle, so Aries was declared the winner. Instead of facing Joe at Final Battle 2004, Low Ki wrestled Danielson, but got himself disqualified and then attacked the referee. This was enough for ROH officials to suspend him indefinitely as a result.

Low Ki returned on May 7, 2005 and immediately attacked Jay Lethal and Samoa Joe at Manhattan Mayhem with his fellow Rottweilers, Homicide, Julius Smokes, Monsta Mack and Rocky Romero. The impromptu tag team match was made: The Rottweilers vs. Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal. Low Ki and Homicide won the match and injured Lethal with a Ghetto Stomp/Cop Killa combination. The feud continued on June 18 at Death Before Dishonor III, where he and Lethal faced each other in a singles match, but it ended in a no contest. They had a rematch on August 12 at Redemption, but the ending was the same and Rottweilers beat Lethal down after the match. Finally, on September 17 at Glory By Honor IV, a "Fight Without Honor" between the two ended with Low Ki getting a pinfall victory over Lethal. After Samoa Joe went on to save Colt Cabana from a beatdown by The Rottweilers, Lethal came out to even the odds and said that he wanted yet another rematch with Low Ki, which Lethal won this time, ending the feud. Later in the year, Low Ki helped Homicide in his feud against Colt Cabana. On December 17, 2005, at Final Battle 2005, he challenged KENTA for his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, but came up short. Low Ki left ROH once again in January 2006 due to a "disagreement in business arragements". He won his last match on January 28 against Jack Evans.[1] ROH covered his leaving by having the ROH commissioner Jim Cornette ban Low Ki from Ring of Honor for life after it was discovered that he was the one who knocked Cornette's tooth out at that show. He was also used as a focus point (in name only) in the Cornette/Homicide feud in the summer of 2006, with Cornette refusing to reinstate Low Ki as Homicide's "third wish."

Low Ki's first stint with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) was for its debut show on June 19, 2002, in a six-man tag team match alongside A.J. Styles and Jerry Lynn against the Flying Elvises. On June 26, he attempted to become the first X Division Champion, but was beaten by Styles. He would, though, eventually go on to win the title from Styles on August 7, but lost it three weeks later to Lynn. He would later form the Triple X faction with Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper that year and hold the NWA World Tag Team Championship twice, once each with Daniels and Skipper. When Daniels's greed for the X Division Championship initially forced Low Ki out of Triple X, Low Ki would go on to battle Daniels in Ultimate X, but his pursuit was unsuccessful. He left TNA in July 2004 and make his return to Ring of Honor.

Low Ki first made his trip to Japan with Pro Wrestling Zero-One in 2002. On September 16, he wrestled Leonardo Spanky and won the International Junior Heavyweight Championship from him. He held the title until August 31, 2003, when he lost it to Wataru Sakata.

Low Ki left Zero-One in mid-2004 to join Pro Wrestling Noah, where he was instantly given a title shot against Global Honored Crown (GHC) Junior Heavyweight Champion Yoshinobu Kanemaru, which he was unable to win. During this period, he represented Pro Wrestling Noah in MXW Pro Wrestling's Gaijin Battle Series. He later joined New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and joined Shinsuke Nakamura's stable RISE, replacing the injured Milano Collection A.T.. In his first match back, he suffered a knee injury, which required surgery. Low Ki returned to the promotion in September, defecting from RISE to join New Japan's main villainous faction, Great Bash Heel (GBH).

After joining GBH, he captured the International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) Junior Heavyweight Championship from Tiger Mask IV on September 21, 2008 on NJPW's Circuit 2008 New Japan Generation tour. He subsequently lost it back to Tiger Mask on NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom III show in Tokyo on January 4, 2009. After losing the title, Low Ki made several appearances for Hustle.

At Lockdown, Christopher Daniels's mystery opponent was revealed to be the returning Low Ki, who wrestled under the name of Senshi (Japanese for "warrior"). Following Lockdown, Senshi was not seen in action for several weeks. Instead, he was built up with a series of vignettes hyping his background, training, and desire to dominate the X Division once more, hinting at the possibility of challenging the X Division Champion, the undefeated Samoa Joe.

Senshi defeated Alex Shelley, Jay Lethal, Petey Williams, Shark Boy, and Sonjay Dutt at Slammiversary to become the number one contender to the X Division Championship. Senshi went on to become X Division Champion again on the June 22, 2006 episode of Impact!, defeating Joe and Dutt after he pinned Dutt. He defended the title on several occasions against various opponents while also remaining undefeated for six months until he lost the title to Chris Sabin at Bound for Glory.

Senshi later feuded with Austin Starr. Their feud would continue until Lockdown in a Six Sides of Steel match, which he won. At Slammiversary, he teamed with Rhino to defeat The Latin American Xchange (LAX). At Victory Road, Senshi competed in a 10-Man Ultimate X Match, which he lost. After the match, however, Triple X was reformed with Daniels, Senshi, and the returning Skipper. They won their reunion match on the July 19, 2007 episode of Impact! against Serotonin.

Triple X faced Lethal and Dutt and The Motor City Machineguns at Hard Justice in a losing effort. Skipper and Senshi also went on to face LAX at Bound for Glory in Ultimate X, ultimately losing.

During December 2007, it was reported that Senshi had submitted his resignation to TNA and he left the promotion shortly after. In 2008, Silvestry helped TNA during the development of its first ever video game by providing both voicing and motion capture for the game's protagonist, Suicide.

Low Ki made his debut for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) on April 7, 2007, in a match, where he defeated Davey Richards. On January 5, 2008, Low Ki won the World Championship after defeating Bryan Danielson. However, he was forced to forfeit the championship just a month later after suffering a knee injury.

He returned to wrestling for PWG's All Star Weekend 7 - Night 1 on August 30, 2008 where he was a part of a four-way for the World Championship; the match also featured Eddie Kingston, Necro Butcher and Chris Hero. Hero won the match when he pinned Kingston. On November 1 and 2 in Burbank, California, Low Ki defeated Roderick Strong, Masato Yoshino, Nigel McGuinness and the PWG World Champion Chris Hero to win the 2008 Battle of Los Angeles.

Low Ki appeared on the November 7, 2008 edition of SmackDown in a dark match, losing to then-WWE Tag Team Champion Primo. Low Ki then won a match against Trent Beretta at the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) tapings on January 8. It was later announced on his official website that he had signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. He wrestled under the name Kaval in FCW, WWE's development territory. In January 2009 he took a hiatus from FCW due to a leg injury, which would keep him sidelined until late October. On November 24, Kaval defeated Paul Burchill in a dark match prior to the SmackDown/ECW tapings. At the December 8 tapings he was defeated by Goldust in another dark match. On the February 7 edition of FCW he defeated Bryan Danielson, for whom this was a debut match, after hitting him with Warrior's Way, and on February 8 won a fatal four-way match against Alberto Banderas, Wade Barrett and Michael Tarver to become the number one contender for the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship. Kaval received his title shot two weeks later, but was defeated by the defending champion, Justin Gabriel.

It was announced on June 1 that Kaval would be a participant in the second season of NXT, with Team Lay-Cool (Michelle McCool and Layla) as his storyline mentors. He debuted on the June 8 episode of NXT, but did not compete in a match. On the June 15 episode of NXT, he was defeated by Alex Riley in his debut, and the following week he was defeated by Eli Cottonwood. On the June 29 episode of NXT, Kaval teamed with Michael McGillicutty and Lucky Cannon against Riley, Cottonwood and Titus O'Neil, which his team won when he pinned Riley, giving Kaval his first win on NXT. Later that night, he was ranked first in the poll.
