This week has gone by so fast...here is what I am in love with this week.
~~Leaving for Atlanta in two days! So can not wait! Great weather all weekend and great times are planned!
~~Finding two websites for listening to my favorite music: Jukesy and Stereomood
~~Buying Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith. So many creative ideas in it. Love it hardcore.
~~Getting myself a Canon Powershot camera for when I go out/go to events on my own/general silliness. I do have a Canon 10D SLR but some places I go to I can not bring it with me. This camera is perfect for vacations and candid photos when I visit my lover known as NYC.
~~Being two weeks without any artificial sweetener (Sweet and Low) in my hot tea. Feel fabulous!
~~Genuine Health Multi+Daily Energy vitamins. Everything they say in the product description is so true!
~~Choosing a different color I normally get for a manicure.
~~Chipotle! So nummy!
~~All of the love on my Facebook page when it was my birthday on Tuesday. I could not believe all of the messages...my heart is still bursting from it.
~~Handmade cards from my students since it was my birthday. Yes there were misspellings but it was really cute.
~~Helping out my friend Michael in his bad time at work. Mending his broken heart is nice.
~~Rain! No more freakin snow!
~~Not eating all of the candy I bought for my birthday goodie bags.
~~April Fools Day tomorrow and planning tricks on my students..*evil grin*
~~"You were really good as your portrayal of a teacher....THATS BECAUSE YOU ARE A TEACHER!""
~~Noticing my breathing. I know that sounds weird but I do.
~~Did I mention Atlanta already?

Things I Love Thursday -- March 24th Edition
So much love all in one place...what am I crushing on this week:
~~On Sunday 3/20, I was a clue in a NYC Scavenger Hunt. The clue was "Essential NYC girl wears all black, Converse or Keds sneakers, bag slung on her elbow, Starbucks in hand." Two girls walked up to me and asked if they could take a photo with me. I asked them why and that was their answer. Who could say no to that?
~~Seeing myself on this week's episode of Celebrity Apprentice. I also posted photos that I took while the show was taping on my Facebook. Check them out!
~~The Red Velvet whoopie pies at Starbucks. With my blood sugar being a little on the high side, I need to find treats that are small and satisfying and this one was. Also, do not be afraid my followers -- I do not have diabetes, I am just at risk for the moment so I have to keep an eye on it.
~~Squeezing lime juice into my water to alleviate my sinuses and allergies. Thanks for the home remedy Mom!
~~Booking a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana with my mom for October. Already excited!
~~Atlanta in ONE WEEK! AHHH!
~~Playing some awesome games in my school building for professional development. It was a good day to build morale/happiness and whenever that is involved, I am all for it!
~~A Harry Potter exhibition coming to NYC! So excited!
~~Going to the It Gets Better Project book signing and meeting some like minded people.
~~Looking up places for the best pancakes in NYC. Already have some choices in mind!
~~Birthday goodie bags for my students. Can not wait to start filling them up!
~~Reading a chapter a day of a new book.
~~Learning the art of Transcendental Meditation and feeling the effects of it. Quite rejuvenating and refreshing!
~~Movies on a rainy day.
~~Creating a digital story in a matter of 30 minutes.
~~Doing milkmaid braids on the top of my head and it being messy. Love it!

Tired/Not Tired -- What Needs to Go and What Can Stay
I saw this excellent idea on my blogger friend/fellow purse enthusiast Rasha's blog and I simply had to snatch it up and give it a whirl. We all get tired sometimes; whether it is physically or emotionally. Without further ado here are 5 things that I am tired of and 5 things that I am not tired of.
What I Am Tired Of
1. People using the word "gay" to describe something they think is corny/have no interest in/do not like. For myself it is very hurtful. This falls, in my opinion, a form of anti-gay bullying. This needs to stop. Watch this video to get on board, if you feel the same way I do.
2. Certain people in my school building. Look I understand we will not all get along and we all have different tastes in things, but when you are overaggressive, put yourself into other peoples conversations when no one was speaking to you, hardly do your job but rather shop for designer brands and flaunt your status of money around, that is where I draw the line. I am not ashamed that I am a thinking nerdy girl who always has a book in her bag and that her students listen and respect me. Maybe instead of being so brass and classless, learn from me. This will not happen though as I am "beneath" her. Whichever.
3. This stupid weather. It is spring. I want sun and nice weather and wind and days in Union Square Park. COME ON MOTHER NATURE!
4. My television shows being on hiatus for a month. I miss them.
5. Not getting enough sleep at night. I must go to bed by 10-11pm to feel like myself the next day...must!
What I am NOT Tired of
1. Heavy metal music blasting into my ears when I walk into my school building.
2. My dogs who always know the word LOVE.
3. My family.
4. David, my phenomenal.
5. Starbucks Chai Lattes and a good book.
If you decided to do this in your blog, please let me know below! Would love to read it.

Things I Love Thursday -- March 17th Edition
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Now I am not Irish and do not agree with the drunkeness that happens as a result with this holiday but I do believe in luck and with that said here is what I am so in lucky love with this week:
~~My phenomenal getting to a computer today at 11am to get me tickets for Charlie Sheen LIVE: My Violent Torpedo of Truth on April 8th in NYC at Radio City Music Hall! I am so excited you have no idea.
~~Catching the death plague. Now wait a minute, you are probably asking yourself "why would you be so in love with that?" Easy. I got to drink lots of herbal tea and take medicine and SLEEP. This is the universes way of telling me that I have super exciting plans coming up so I need to slow down now, rest up, and get ready!
~~ATLANTA IN TWO WEEKS!
~~Getting to wear my Slytherin t-shirt in school since it is green and having insane conversations with my students who all yelled at me for rooting for Lord Voldemort. It was hysterical and cute all at the same time.
~~Finally cutting out refined sugar from my life. Yes my sweet tooth is talking to me but overall it is for the best.
~~The weather in NYC for the next two days! LOVE LOVE LOVE. So can not wait to head into NYC tomorrow with my friend Josy to see Battle: LA.
~~12 Days to My Birthday! Still have no idea what I am doing yet but I am excited!
~~The fact that my mom does NOT need surgery for her knee. Physical Therapy here she comes!
~~This blog post: How to Spot a Thinking Girl
~~Learning about the yumminess of blood oranges.
~~Getting right into pajamas as soon as I get home.
~~My alma mater ST PETERS COLLEGE competing in this years NCAA Tournament. LETS GO PEACOCKS!
~~Getting closer and closer to my $30,000 dollars in savings goal.
~~Before I broke up with refined sugar, I had a Girl Scout cookie binge. Thin Mints...oh my goodness.
~~Finding a mashup mix alled Best of Booty 2010. Great music to dance to. Ranks up there with Girl Talk in my opinion.
~~Gaining inspiration from other blogs. So much creativity out there!

Things I Love Thursday -- March 10th Edition
It is a cold dreary rainy day in the land of Jersey and what better way to get yourself out of the funk then a good ole list of love! Here is what I am jonesing on this week:
~~Not reacting negatively to the rat in my school building. You see, this teacher only knows one method of teaching and that is yelling and is very jealous that students respect and listen to me. So the other day I gave a comic book to a child and she deemed it inappropriate. Instead of coming to me and saying that, she instead complained to the assistant principal and I was called into her office and spoken to. What upset me is her unprofessionalism so I spoke to some people and now know the next steps, if I want to take it to that level. Just want to show she did not get me and that I did not react because that is what she is looking for.
~~David going for chicken tenders and fries for me at a hockey game and cutting up the tenders so I could enjoy them more. It was so cute!
~~Practicing my penmanship and achieving a great signature.
~~Having a calm mind and clean hands
~~Curling up in my bed with new sheets and dogs.
~~Finally receiving my federal tax refund. Yay to extra money!
~~Strong orange tea that awakes all of my senses.
~~Crescent moons in the night sky beaming down.
~~Thinking of new outfits every day
~~My bright purple tights that make me very happy.
~~Giving up negativity for Lent.
What are you jonesing on this week?

WINNING-Control Freaks and You
Ahh....the topic that has been on everyones lips since October...
No I am not talking about the BP Gulf Oil Spill or the human rights atrocities in Egypt and Libya, I am talking about the one and only CHARLIE SHEEN.
Everyone in the Hollywood industry is quick to judge -- from Dr. Drew to TMZ to even CBS and in my honest opinion I am sick of it. Here is why.
Charlie Sheen since the beginning of his career made it quite known that he is a party monster that loves sex, drugs, and porn stars. He is not hiding who he truly is and for that I applaud him. In fact how many talented celebrities had to hide who they truly are so they could get a job? In fact Two and a Half Men is a fictionalized account of his life off screen. Here is the plot summary of the show: Two and a Half Men is an American television comedy series which premiered on CBS on September 22, 2003. Starring Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Angus T. Jones, the show is about a hedonistic jingle writer, Charlie; his uptight brother, Alan; and Alan's growing son, Jake. Charlie's free-wheeling life is complicated and altered when his brother gets divorced and moves, along with his son, into Charlie's beach-front Malibu house. How can CBS be angry with that? They saw how Charlie is and they made it into a hit show. How about this story for size of another famous actress who the Hollywood industry tried to keep down.
Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an American actress and singer. Through a career that spanned 45 of her 47 years, Garland attained international stardom as an actress in musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist and on the concert stage. Respected for her versatility, she received a Juvenile Academy Award, won a Golden Globe Award, received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her work in films, as well as Grammy Awards and a Special Tony Award.
After appearing in vaudeville with her sisters, Garland was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager. There she made more than two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney and the 1939 film with which she would be most identified, The Wizard of Oz. After 15 years, Garland was released from the studio but gained renewed success through record-breaking concert appearances, including a return to acting beginning with a critically acclaimed performance in A Star Is Born (1954), a critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall concert in 1961, and a well-regarded but short-lived television series (1963–64).
Despite her professional triumphs, Garland battled personal problems throughout her life. Insecure about her appearance, her feelings were compounded by film executives who told her she was unattractive and manipulated her on-screen physical appearance. (Re-read that sentence. FILM EXECUTIVES TOLD HER SHE WAS UNATTRACTIVE. She was given speed pills to boost her metabolism. Yeah...) Garland was plagued by financial instability, often owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes. She married five times, with her first four marriages ending in divorce. Garland died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 47, leaving children Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft.
In 1997, Garland was posthumously awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Several of her recordings have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 1999, the American Film Institute placed her among the ten greatest female stars in the history of American cinema.
So for many years, the Hollywood industry wants to bring you entertainment at the expense of human beings who are, in slang terms, trying to keep it real. That is all what Charlie is doing. Yes he might have gone off the deep end and I truly hope that he slows down as well as I am not promoting anyone to take drugs, but instead of looking for the negative here; lets look for the POSITIVE. He is a Cuban American male who is telling it like it is, in his own way, and has no shame of his identity. I applaud him for sticking to his identity and not allowing the Hollywood industry control freaks to do to him what it has done to other famous talented people.
Keep it up Charlie, and keep on WINNING! Bring It!

Things I Love Thursday -- March 3rd Edition
Happy March! I love this month....the changing of the seasons, the cliche' "comes in like a lion, out like a lamb" and one of the most important reasons....MY BIRTHDAY!!!!
With all of that said, here is what I am oozing with joy and love with this week. (Sorry this is so late by the way....)
~~Going on a field trip to the Liberty Science Center with only four students
~~My field trip group conducting an experiment
~~My student coming up with his scientist name which was Dr. Isaac Von Ticklebomm.
~~Having cravings for cranberry juice and lemon water
~~Updating my Amazon wish list for my birthday
~~Finally getting a pedicure at Galleria. This is a big deal as I did not get a pedicure for a year due to myself being scared about my left foot which I broke last year. Felt so good....
~~Outdoor recess! I love the ability to take the kids outside to play.
~~Taking myself to an independent film festival that is just for short films. Can not wait!
~~Having the greatest t-shirt ever be a hit at my school. On Wednesday I wore my Dr Seuss "I Didn't Do It!" t-shirt and all of the students loved it! I did not care that I looked silly in the eyes of the fashionistas. I was confident and happy and smiley all day!
~~Motley Crue going on a whirlwind summer tour with Poison and NY Dolls! July 20th at Nassau Coliseum! Woot!
~~Becoming a proud member of TEAM SHEEN. Yes I do hope he slows down as his lifestyle will catch up to him (Jim Belushi, Chris Farley, Layne Statley to name a few.) but I am proud to see him not as a phony like a lot of other Hollywood people.
~~Planning out outfits the night before.
~~The camera on my new cell phone. So clear and has a function for Self photos when you extend your arm out -- instead of small button to push, you get this big square so you do not miss it. I love it.
~~Finally understanding the greatness that is Russell Brand
~~Finishing Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk. It was a descent read but I would not start with that book if you just discovered Chuck.
~~Beating Plants vs. Zombies the video game. It relieved a lot of stress!
~~Cranberries in my salad...so nummy
~~The perfect cup of tea waiting for me when I get home. Thanks Mom!
~~Getting a Kindle! Early birthday present for me!
What are you oozing with love with this week?
