I decided last week to stop talking about sports on Tuesday as I really do not have a lot to say about the subject. I am a major hockey fan (LETS GO DEVILS!) and I started to follow football and baseball when David and I started dating, but in reality I am not a hardcore sports fan like him. So why write about something that I really do not have a passion for? Therefore I will stick to Kayfabe Mondays, Things I Love Thursday, and Fun Fact Friday.
Then I started to think...what can I write about on Tuesdays? I KNOW! MY BROKEN FOOT!
In case you have not seen my other posts or following me on Twitter or Facebook, my full time job is a school teacher in the Jersey City Public Schools. When I was laid off from my part time job at Saint Peters College, I decided to do lunch duty at my school since the pay was the same.
Let us fast forward to March 4th. I have lunch duty with the 4th grade class that I assist with for Math and Language Arts. Since it was a cold day, I decided to keep them upstairs and have recess in the classroom. 11:20am--the time I take them down to the cafeteria. Now when I escort students anywhere, I walk backward. Why? Main reason--to make sure everyone is there and that they are behaving correctly. As I was walking backward, I tripped on something and twisted my body and down I went. Of course some of the students laughed and others helped me get up and I said to the students who laughed "When you get hurt, and I see it, I am going to laugh myself until next week." I walked down the stairs slowly as can be because I could not put all of my weight or any weight onto my left foot. I knew something was wrong. I got the students down to the cafeteria and the teachers I work with told me to go to the nurse and that they would watch my students. I hobbled my way upstairs, called the accident into workers compensation, and called my mom to come get me to take me to the urgent care center.
About 3 hours later I was in a fiberglass splint to reduce the swelling in my foot and I broke the 5th metadarsal, which is the pinky toe, also known as the Jones fracture. I guess it is a common fracture. Anyway, I was placed on a mandated staycation. On March 16th, the splint was removed and I got a hard walking cast. It comes off on April 6th and then we will go from there.
So, how has it been? IT HAS BEEN HORRIBLE! I have the worst cabin fever ever. There is only so much reading, word search puzzles, and interwebs a girl can do. I miss my students. Yesterday was my birthday and it felt like any other day. Due to the rain, my foot has been really sore and throbbing lately so I have been sleeping a lot and keeping it up a lot. I missed Phoenix due to this and I am hope that I do not miss any of my other scheduled adventures with David.
Well, that is what is up in a nutshell. I will write again next Tuesday to let you know the diagnosis.

Kayfabe Monday--March 29th Edition
Before I go into my feature for today, I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to well..ME! Also add in Michael P.S. Hayes.
So last Thursday, Vince McMahon had a few choice words to say to Acorn Online concerning TNA Wrestling. Here is what he said: Speaking to Acorn Online, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon rips TNA for its struggle to make any sort of impact in the ongoing "Monday Night War" with his company's RAW telecast.
Notably, McMahon explains that TNA offers a dated product--"pro wrasslin'"--that is not compatible with the expectations of the modern WWE fan.
"We’re in different businesses," says McMahon. "We’re in the entertainment business and they’re in the ‘pro wrasslin’ business. It’s different markets. When they moved to Monday nights they threw the kitchen sink at us and only did a fraction of our audience. It doesn’t speak well for the type of product they’re trying to present with the tawdry, blood-soaked action. I don’t think that’s what the culture wants these days.”
McMahon adds that his company, which is "woven into the fabric of America," represents a true family affair.
Says McMahon, "If you look at the audience for our live events you will see fathers and sons and mothers and sons and brothers and sisters. This is something an entire family can go out and enjoy together. It’s a lot like baseball in that respect." (Credit source: www.nodq.com)
Now let us break down each of these points:
1) Vince McMahon mentions that TNA offers "pro-rasslin" while WWE offers "entertainment". Back when I was young, my brother and I watched World Class Championship Wrestling and NWA which then turned into WCW for PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. That is one of the main reasons why I watch TNA today--the nostalgia of watching wrestling with my brother. If I want to be entertained, I have Gossip Girl, Heroes, Gilmore Girls, 90210, Melrose Place, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Food Network.
2)Vince thinks that the American Culture does not want what TNA offers. Hmm..well if that is the case, why is WWE's ratings in the tank every week? Also, does WWE even listen to what their fans want to see? If they did, I think Wrestlemania 26 would not be as boring as it is right now.
3)That WWE is "woven into the fabric of America"--What fabric is that? It took close to 30 years to get professional wrestling out of the carnival sideshow where it started. Also, he speaks about "family values" and the type of audience that is in the arenas nowadays. Does he not realize that his best days of ratings and merchandise was when the Attitude era was around? I love how he tries to forget that.Another point brought up by Eric Bischoff-- Vince McMahon, the guy who wanted his son-in-law to perform a sex act on a dead body, asked Bischoff to make out with his wife AND daughter, owns a boat called "Sexy Bitch" and wanted Bischoff to promote "Hot Lesbian Action" on his show but yet calls TNA "tawdry". Can we all collectively say HYPOCRITE? Also, maybe WWE is trying a more "family friendly" style because the former CEO, Linda McMahon, is running for US Senate. Everything is a end-game and the end-game is that Vince is trying to get his wife into political office.
Finally, I hope Vince realize that COMPETITION is good for the economy of the United States as well as the professional wrestling industry. TNA Wrestling started seven years ago and they still have a lot of growing to do but it appears to me that Vince is scared. If he wasn't why would he mention TNA Wrestling? Why would they be in his mouth? I think TNA Wrestling did what they wanted to do--and that is start a war.

Fun Fact Friday #4--March 26th Edition

Here is Fact #4 of me
#4: For the longest time, my favorite fruit was strawberries. I would eat them a lot. About 8 years ago, I had some kiwi strawberry juice followed with a cupful of strawberries. I broke out in the most disgusting hives I have ever seen. I thought it was my laundry detergent or something, so I switched my detergents. The next day I had the kiwi strawberry juice with the cupful of strawberries and guess what--got hives again. I went to my doctor and had a battery of allergy tests and somehow I developed an allergy to strawberries. I now have to be very careful with anything that has strawberries around it. It sucks.

Update on Foot + Birthday
First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has wished me well in the recovery of my broken foot.
Right now, it has been one full week since my foot was placed into a traditional hard cast. I got a few signatures and decorated it a little. I "walk" on the heel of the cast and make sure to keep my toes up. I am using crutches. On April 6th, the cast comes off and my foot will be x-rayed again and then I will go from there.
What sucks about this whole thing is the fact that I am going stir crazy being in my house all the time. There is only so much reading and surfing the internet a girl can do. This weekend is the Phoenix trip that David and I were supposed to go on, but with this cast it would be just a big hassle. Luckily enough I found people to buy my portion of the tickets for events we were going to. Only problem was the flight. He convinced United to refund the flight but Delta was not having it. So sometime in April I have another bill to pay besides cell phone bill and credit card bill. Yay.
Also my birthday is in 6 days! Have you done your shopping yet? If not go here: Danielle's Wish List
I have also decided to not do the Tackle Tuesday blog anymore. I watch sports but not a rabid fan like my fiance' for example. Maybe I will be a Tunetastic Tuesday or something since I am more into music anyway. What do you think?

Kayfabe Monday--March 22nd Edition
Right now, there is a Monday Night War going on...yes I am speaking about TNA Impact vs. WWE Monday Night Raw...but there is another show that is also spanking BOTH of them in the ratings--CW NETWORKS'S GOSSIP GIRL.
See, everyone is so concerned that WWE did a 3.74 and TNA Impact did a 0.8, but Gossip Girl averages 5 million viewers a week and IS NOT REPLAYED anytime on the CW Network. If you miss it, you have to wait until it is posted on Hulu which takes days. WWE Raw is replayed by Mun2 on Wednesdays, USA Network on Saturdays at 2am, Telemundo on Sunday at 4pm. TNA Impact is replayed on Thursdays on Spike TV, even though Dixie Carter said it would not be. So why bother watching TNA Impact on Monday night when I can catch the replay on Thursday and the same thing for Monday Night Raw?
Both TNA and WWE need to realize that if they want their ratings to go up, STOP DOING REPLAYS. I know that this is a short blog this week, but sometimes short and to the point is the best way to go.
